I'm not a big writing person. Blogs, diaries, you name it. It's not that I haven't tried - there have been many attempts at keeping a blog going, but I mostly just loose interest after a few tries, mostly because I get sucked into the popularity game, where your worth becomes tied to how many comments you have, how many pageviews you can achieve and what awards your peers will bestow. However, I have things to say, so I guess I'm giving this blogging thing one more shot, but it's probably best to keep things private.

Now, I am an avid follower and reader of various fashion blogs, mostly because I like the interesting ways people mix up their wardrobe, and sometimes, I just like pretty pictures. However, there are just a few things I've noticed...

1. For those who live in colder climates, and I will define cold by temperature dropping under 35 degrees F, how on earth do you wear tights outside? I can hardly believe that someone can go outside and now be completely frozen in tights with a skirt or shorts. No matter how long your coat is, it hurts when all that wind is blowing past your legs. I'm not just imagining how cold it is, I've actually tried this in 30-40 degree weather, and it's not easy. By the night time when temperature dropped, my legs were absolutely frozen. I can only say, if you actually wear tights out in the winter, props...

2. Despite the fact that all fashion bloggers will try to convince you that high heels can be comfortable and sported all day long, I will have to disagree. Granted, they look amazing in all the pictures I've seen, and there are a ton of beautifully colored/designed high heels, but I have never, in my entire life, worn a pair of comfortable heels. For me, having my legs look a mile long is never going to be a good enough reason to suffer through a painful-feet day. Plus, I'm 5'10'', and unless I'm walking on the streets of NYC, I don't want to wear a pair of 4'' heels that make me tower over literally everyone around. On the other hand, I will, eventually, own a pair of Christian Louboutin pumps - I may never wear them, but they are so pretty.

3. Mini-skirts/dresses. A lot of girls actually do this, in real life or online. To be honest I'm not comfortable with them; even if I have tights on underneath, I constantly fear that my butt is out there for the whole world to see - kinda like wearing a t-shirt with leggings, if you know what I mean. So I end up frequently pulling at the bottom of the dress/skirt, practically screaming at the world that I'm not comfortable in these clothes.

4. Have you ever wondered why a certain fashion blogger's clothes in her pictures are always pristine, crisp and flawless yet in comparison, everything you own is wrinkled and looks like it has been run over by a truck? Well I often feel that way. I wonder how much time people spend up-keeping their clothes.

5. I don't know if bloggers have no finite limit on their credit card, but I swear most of what they own is either designer or high-end mall stores like Banana Republic. I actually have no problem with people spending thousands of dollars on a purse - if you earned that money, do what you want with it. However, I do take an issue with bloggers, who are clearly college or high school students, spending their parents' money on designer items. I know I know, they could actually not be spending their parents' money, blah blah. I'm talking about the ones that are. I don't know if it's the way I was raised or just how my values are, but if I didn't earn the money myself, I would not be comfortable spending it on luxury items.

So there, I'm done. Now I just need the people living above my apartment to stop banging on every possible surface...
